Helping animals and the people who care for them across North Staffordshire since 1963.

The RSPCA Staffordshire North Branch has been supporting animals in need for more than 60 years. We are a separately registered charity and raise all of our own funds locally. We receive no funding from the Government or Local Authorities, so the support of our community is vital.

Since 10 April 2025, we have no longer been able to provide a rehoming facility. Our work has therefore developed to focus on animal welfare for all animals – both domestic and wildlife – together with helping local people to care for their animals.

How we help

🐾 Veterinary support
We provide subsidised veterinary treatment for sick or injured animals belonging to local people on low incomes. We do this through our voucher scheme and by working with other charitable organisations.

🐾 Neutering and microchipping
We offer subsidised neutering and microchipping for companion animals belonging to owners on low incomes. This helps promote responsible pet ownership and reduce the number of unwanted animals.

🐾 Animal welfare
Animals in our care receive appropriate veterinary treatment, vaccination, neutering and microchipping, and are assessed for rehoming where appropriate.

🐾 Advice and education
We provide free animal-care advice to pet owners and, by invitation, give talks to local schools and community organisations. These activities help promote responsible pet ownership and encourage compassion and respect for animals.

Our area

We support animals and their owners across North Staffordshire, including Stoke-on-Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

We are committed to doing what we can to improve animal welfare locally and hope to expand the range of advice, support and educational activities we can offer in the future.

A separately registered charity

In August 2025, the Branch became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Charity No. 1210239.

Our previous charity number, 225670, is no longer in operation, although it may still appear on some older websites and documents.

The Branch is run by a committee of volunteer Trustees, supported by volunteers who give their time and expertise to help our work.

Reporting animal cruelty

The RSPCA Staffordshire North Branch is independent of the National RSPCA Inspectorate.

If you are concerned about an animal being abused, neglected or suffering, please report it directly to the RSPCA Inspectorate on 0300 123 8960. The Branch has no control over the Inspectorate and has no authority to investigate cruelty reports.
